Four Simple Steps to Follow When Replacing Your Golf Grips
There are four simple steps to follow when replacing your golf grips. Of course the question arises as to why someone would want to replace golf grips? Replacing golf grips is a part of the maintenance of your golf clubs. Golf clubs are not cheap, and are the tools golfers use to play the game, which most golfers tend to be quite serious about. Just as a person will clean a computer mouse occasionally or always make sure that the oil in their car is changed every 3,000 miles, replacing golf grips when the time comes is a part of playing the game. In fact the serious golfer, whether amateur or pro will ant to change grips at least once every season, and many will do so twice per season. Â
Any good golf player and especially any golf pro, will recommend changing or replacing your golf grips on a regular basis. With the renewed interest in golf and especially with the amount of time and money that so many golf players spend in an attempt to improve their game and lower their score, it is a wonder that more golfers don’t realize that simply replacing their grips can help them tremendously in this task.
Changing golf club grips occasionally is just one of the chores of maintenance of golf clubs used to improve a game, and golf players have been doing various things to make their games better for centuries. This has included trying new types of clubs, new swings, taking lessons from pros, and many other methods of making a score lower and a game better. Since golf was invented in the highlands of Scotland over 500 years ago, the goal has always been the unattainable, to have a consistently perfect game of golf. But, if you wish to come closer to attaining that goal than you ever have before, then take the game seriously and do the same thing for your clubs that you would do for your care. Condition them properly and replace the grips when needed.
Many people choose to have their grips replaced professionally. If that is your choice and you can afford it, then no problem. Many people, however, want to save money on replacing their golf grips. If that is the case, you need to purchase or acquire five items: the new golf grips you wish to install, a sharp knife or razor blade holder, double sided tape, a good cleaning solvent solution, and a work bench that includes a stationary vice. Many golfers will have all of the necessary items in a home workshop. Others can easily borrow the items needed. However, if these tools and pieces of equipment are not available to you, then they should be acquired.  You will definitely use them again and again during a long and full golfing career.
Steps to follow are rather simple. The club should be placed in the vice on the workbench and it should be tightened with the grip of the club exposed fully. Then the knife or razor blade should be utilized to cut the grip away from the shaft, cutting up towards the end of the club. Of course, cut away from your body to avoid accidents or injury. Then take the old grip off and clean our club shaft using the solvent. A brush, cloth or what have you can be used for this process, but be sure to dry the club when you are finished. Then the double-sided tape should be wrapped down the length of the grip and the part of the shaft that the grip normally covers should be covered completely. The backing from the other side of the tape should be removed at this time. Then apply solvent to the tape, align with grip with the club and move it toward the club head. Remove the club from your workbench vice and place the head of the club on the floor, making the minor adjustments and alignments that you see might be required. The final step is to let the new grips dry for several hours. In the end, you have applied new grips, and your mission is accomplished. This will help you save money and have better golf clubs for your next game.

Fore Score and Many Holes Ago … General Tips to Improve your Golf Game
Unless you are a pro golfer playing the PGA circuit, chances are you are looking for ways to improve your golf game. In a sport where less is more, you continuously strive to hit harder, further, and with more accuracy. You constantly want to improve your game. Here are some pointers that might help get you started.
Watch how you hold your club. Holding the club too tightly means that you will lose power and distance. You want to hold it firmly so you do not fling it at the crowd, but not too tight. It needs to be loose enough to have good tempo and a smooth swing. If it is wet or slippery, do not forget to use a towel to dry your club and hands so that you can get a better grip. You can also consider getting a pair of gloves that will help you to handle the grip better.
Watch your left arm. If your arm is too rigid it will cause you to pull down on the handle, slowing the club’s speed and leading to an open face on impact. If you want to generate more club head speed and distance, then slightly flex your left arm. Watch your stance and swing as well – trying to flex too much may throw you off balance and create an inaccurate swing as well.
Keep your head up to be able to allow yourself to swing freely and powerfully. You should be able to fit your fist between your chin and your chest. As with many sports, you have to keep your eye where you want the ball to go. The rest of your body will then follow through.
Keep your movements flowing. When you are hitting the ball, the swing should not lose moment once you have made impact, but should follow through. Stopping the swing too short after impact will cause you to hack the ball and increase your chance of slicing.
Eat before you leave the house – and make it something good. You need a complex carbohydrate and a good protein source to ensure you the best energy for the entire game. Skipping a meal beforehand or eating junk food will not help get you through the game. Try cereal and eggs and fruit for breakfast, or a turkey sandwich on whole wheat with lettuce and fruit on the side for lunch. Avoid sugary foods that will cause you to feel tired sooner, as well as greasy ones that may give you indigestion on the course.
Always warm up before you start your game. Do some light cardio and plenty of stretching. A few practice swings to get your body used to the motion will not hurt either. This will help get the blood flowing throughout your body and loosen your muscles. Not only will this help prevent injury, but it can improve your game as well.
Stay hydrated! Drink water before you leave for the course. This will help you digest your food and keep you hydrated. Remember that even on a cool day it is possible to become dehydrated. Dehydrations can cause loss of energy and focus as well fatigue during the game. Drink as much as possible before you go and carry water with you.
This is worth mentioning again – stretch, stretch, stretch! Do not wait until you can barely move before deciding to move your muscles. Doing stretches in between shots, particularly of the back and shoulders, will not only keep you more comfortable, but will also help to improve your swing later on in the course.
Keep your energy up with snacks. Not a bag of chips and can of coke either – make it healthy. Dried fruit or nutrition bars are great for this. It will help fill in any nutrient gaps from the energy you are burning throughout the round.
Lastly, do your homework. No one becomes a pro overnight. It takes work and dedication. Study the game so that you know all of the ins and outs. Consider working with a trainer that can give you advice on areas that you need improving. Talk with buddies at the clubhouse about techniques that they use. Most of all have fun!

Every golfer may have a slightly different exercise regime. However, this is a list of five of the most popular golfing exercises every golfer should use. They are as follows:
1. Standing Twist with Club: In this exercise you hold your club chest high with grip a shoulder width a part. While in a stance with your feet spread apart, you would then turn to the left and then turn to the right, with the club still in your hands. Exhale on every turn to release tension, and repeat at least 10 times on each side.
2. Backswing Stretch with Club: First you extend left arm out in front of you, if you are a right-handed golfer. If you are a left-handed golfer you would extend out your right hand. Then, you would take both hands on top of the club. After that, you would drop your upper body down against the club to feel strength in your left shoulder. Then you would hold this position for 15 second, and repeat once more, and do the same to the opposite side.
3. The Seated Twist: First, sit in an office chair or table chair in an upright position-your chest high and your back straight. Then, reach behind your back with your left arm, and leverage your right arm against your left leg. Hold this position for at least 10 seconds, and then repeat. You would then switch arms and repeat what you did on the first side twice.
4. The Seated Hamstring Stretch: While you are seated, you would raise right foot and place it on a desktop or tabletop. Lean forward towards your feet. Make sure your upper back stays straight during this exercise. You would hold this for 10 seconds and then repeat, and then you would do the same thing for the left leg twice.
5. Weight Training: You can use a bench press and dumbbell weight sets to perform various weight-training exercises to help golfers improve their swings. You can find more specific information regarding this when you read additional articles about weight training for golfers. These articles can be found for free when you search for them in your favorite web browser.
The common misconception of those who shun weight training for golf players is that these exercises will limit a golfer’s play. This could not be further from the truth. In recent years, more and more golfers are learning the important of incorporating weight-training exercises along with their regular stretching regime.
If you participate in a basic program of stretching and weight training exercises, you can help improve your driving power as well as improve the safety of your swing forces. You need to find what exact training program will work best for you. There are a variety of ways in which you can do this, including using the information you have found in this article.
The time period required to complete a golfing exercise routine takes most golfers between 25 to 35 minutes for three times a week in the fitness center. They also did some home training exercises as well, of various kinds. A combination of both gym machine exercises and free-weight exercises can help you, and can provide for you an adequate strength-training program.
Depending upon which home or gym exercises you do on a regular basis, you are likely to notice improvements in your muscle strength within a month. You will also notice changes in your body composition. In addition, you will gradually be able to replace more fat with muscle as you perform these exercises.
If you want to test your fat/muscle composition in order to find out much it has changed, this test can be performed with skin fold calipers. When you do this you will notice that all the muscles that you work will become firmer, including those of your legs, arms, as well as upper body and other areas that you decide to train. In addition, you will find that your waist size will decrease as well.
Some of the equipment that you would use to train with could include resistance machine with multiple exercise options, along with different weight levels of dumbbells, medicine balls, and rehabilitation equipment. Many exercises are designed to utilize a gofer’s own body weight as well.

If you have an avid golfer in your life, holidays and birthdays may be a hassle for you. You might not have any ideas of what to purchase as that special gift, particularly if you are not a golfer yourself. Here are some popular gift ideas that are sure to make any golfer smile on their special day.
If your golfer is in the need of organizational help to keep his tees and other golf accessories all in one place, consider getting him an organizer for his car. Designed for maximum portability, they offer plenty of space for everything from his shoes to his tees to his gloves to his balls. No more fishing around the trunk for balls that have rolled out of the bag or loose tees that always get lost. If your golfer does not travel much, consider getting a dresser organizer with a golf theme. That way he always has a place to store his keys, club ID, and other golf essentials that might still be in his pockets when he gets home.
If Dad has a problem getting up in the morning after a late night golf session, (or a hard time going to bed after that winning game) consider getting him a pair of golf slippers to keep his feet toasty while he is putting around the house. They are soft and cushy, perfect for those cold mornings at home while he is waiting for the course to dry. They even have skid proof “cleats†on the bottom so you do not have to worry about slipping. Since they come in both black and brown, you can also be sure that they coordinate his favorite pajama bottoms as well – no need for him to clash before he heads out for the course! You can pair these with a golf themed coffee mug to help him get his caffeine buzz before heading out the door.
If you know a golf ball collector, consider getting a display case so that they can proudly show off their balls. You can get a very artistic one shaped like a putting green. The balls are held in place by actual golf tees! A dark green velvet background and cherry stained wood finish it off. You could also go with a more traditionally shaped case designed to hang on the wall. Or another option for smaller spaces is a revolving case that can be placed on a desk or end table. With multiple sides, this allows several balls to be seen with just a simple turn. These will be something that they will be proud to display at home or office so that they can share the stories behind each ball.
If your golfer has every been accused of altering the score or just plain does not like the math involved with golf, consider getting them an electric score counter. These little gadgets are designed to clip right to the golf bag for easy carrying. With a few simple presses of the button, it will keep track of the score for each hole, as well as a running total overall. No more adjusting the score! This can also be used to track putts as well when they are at practice
If your golfer is also a gadget geek, then there are plenty of gift options available for you. One to consider is a gadget that helps find the heaviest areas along the equator of the golf ball. This area is the seam. With a special pen, you can mark the equator of the ball, and then use that line to align your shots. Supposedly, this will help give you better accuracy with your putts. Plus, it is just the perfect gadget for your golfing geek.
No matter what type of golfer you have around your home, there are plenty of gift ideas out there. These are just a few of the more popular and fun ones. If you do not see the perfect gift idea here for your golfer, consider visiting your local sports store or golf specialty shop for more ideas. When all else fails, a gift certificate to their favorite green or store is always a great last minute idea. Have fun and happy shopping!

When you hear the word handicap in golf, this refers to a numerical representation of a golf player’s capability. The lower a golfer’s handicap, the better the golfer is. A golfer, who has a handicap of two, is better than a golfer who has a handicap of ten. The number one tip to decrease your handicap would have to be practice. The more time you spend on the course working on your game, the better you will be.
Handicaps are not an average of a golfer’s scores, instead they are meant to correspond to what a golfer’s potential is. An example of this would be- a golfer who averages 20-over-par would not be apt to have a handicap of 20; his handicap will typically be several strokes lower than 20. This is due to the way that handicaps are calculated.
A handicap index is an official handicap that is recognized through the backing of a USGA affiliated club. If a golfer wishes to create a handicap index, he requires no less than five most recent scores, as well as the course rating and slope rating of the courses played.
When a handicap index is recognized, it is then used to establish a course handicap. A course handicap is used to let a golfer know the number of strokes permissible on a golf course. This means that if a course handicap is fourteen, the golfer can subtract fourteen strokes from his score during the round. These handicap indexes are used to allow golfers of varying skill levels to play fairly against each other.
For golfers with a higher handicap, cavity back irons are a better choice. This is only true however because unless a golfer is has enough skill to never miss the center of the clubface, he is not better off playing a muscle back. The back iron has a higher moment of inactivity about the vertical axis of its center of gravity, transporting more distance from an off center hit than a muscle back iron. On PGA tours, better than half of the pro’s playing use cavity back irons while the rest use a muscle back iron.
A large number of players use muscle back iron designs because they are positive that, the muscle back allows them to deliberately fade or draw the ball effortlessly. They may also feel that the impact when hitting the ball with the muscle back iron is softer in comparison with a cavity back.
Spend time at the golf course or watching golf games on television. Viewing others and their methods of playing the game can help you improve on your own method of playing.
Keep yourself focused on the basics, to start with, do not aim too big. It is important that the quality of your game improves if you want to decrease your golf handicap. Hire a professional if it is within your budget, working with an expert can teach you many valuable tips and tricks.
It is also essential that you always remember to concentrate on the basics. These basics are grip, alignment and posture. Without a complete knowledge of these three things, you will never have a full level of reliability in your game.
Going into a game of golf, you should try to be very prepared both mentally and physically. A good pre-game warm up helps you get into a proper mind set, which is vital in reducing your handicap. Before you begin your game, stand behind the ball, pick a target and imagine the shot your wanting to hit while you make practice swings. With a good grip on your club, align yourself properly utilizing the proper posture and view your target very carefully before you swing.
Make sure that you are always using clubs that are properly fitted for you, with special consideration placed on shaft flex and lie angle of the head. No matter how often you practice, still devote at least half of your time to chipping and putting, as this is the most effect way of decreasing your handicap.
Amateur golfers may also want to consider substituting their 2, 3 and 4 irons with lofted woods or utility type clubs. Long irons are often the cause of many problems for handicap players and there are many good products out there that can be used to replace them. The biggest tip you can receive when you are seeking to reduce your golfing handicap is that you must have the desire to improve. You have to really want to do better, and be willing to commit to the time it will take you to get better at your game.

Fitness routines to create a better-conditioned golfer are not hard to find out about. Many pro golfers have made no secret of the types of routines that they have used for years. Tiger Woods and others have given interviews and discussed the subject at length. However, many golf pros are able to afford professional trainers. If you want to condition your body in order to improve your golf game you don’t have to spend a fortune on personal trainers and other programs. There are very simple things you can do yourself.
For instance, remember the old daily dozen. The same exercises that the average Army or Marine Corps drill sergeant will have basic training recruits go through more than once a day are perfect for getting a body into better shape. These include many famous exercises that you may have tried in school, especially if you played sports of any kind.
Pushups, sit-ups, crunches, jumping jacks, running in place, deep knee bends, touching toes, and doing pull ups on the chin up bars. These are tried and true, proven exercises that work. Also if you are a runner than simply taking a run or jog will help. So will jumping rope. Climbing a rope is also great exercise, especially for the arms and upper body if you have one available. But a very simple exercise that many people forget is simply taking a walk. Going out in the evening to start with walking ten minutes at a time, at a quick pace to build up the heart rate is a great conditioning exercise to start with. Then increasing the amount of time you spend, first to fifteen minutes and then twenty, and then thirty is a great way to condition your body. Before you know it you’ll be power walking five miles a day, a great way to get in shape.Â
Swimming is another great way to conditioning your body to become a better golfer. Swimming laps in any pool three times a week exercises all of the muscles in the body, and will after time improve your golf game tremendously. Many pro golfers are avid and active swimmers. Many times the local YMCA, a gym or a neighborhood health club will have a pool area and will reserve it for people who are swimming laps. Many health clubs are open late, open early and some are even open 24 hours a day to make them easier and more convenient for people to work out and condition themselves.Â
Also, taking an interest in other sports will help your golf game. If you occasionally play tennis, handball, racquetball, squash, or a game of pick up basketball you will utilize long dormant muscles and improve your skills at all other sports that you could participate in. Many people even enjoy exotic sports. Americans for instance are finding joy in the traditional British sports of rugby and cricket and people all over the world enjoy soccer.
Don’ t forget the part that a good, balanced diet will play in conditioning your body also. Make sure that you eat like an athlete. Get plenty of protein in whatever forms you prefer. Some people enjoy protein shakes. Others are carnivorous and simply make sure that they have a lot of lean meat in their diets. Fish, chicken, turkey and other high protein and low fat foods, including nuts and legumes are very good at helping you condition your body to become a better athlete.Â
Also including vegetables and fruits in your diet, dropping most white processed foods and cutting down on the intake of sugars and fats will improve health, help you live longer and help you condition your body to become a better golf. Add to this to a good night’s sleep and a good doze of common sense, and cutting out or cutting back on caffeine and alcohol consumption will help greatly.
The next and last thing to do is to practice your golf game. Schedule time on a regular basis to play golf, to go to the driving range, or even to go to the local miniature golf place with the kids to practice putting. Golf is a serious sport. Get your self conditioned, healthy and in shape, eat right, sleep right and practice and you will improve your game.

Excelling in Golf – It’s All a Matter of the Mind
Golf is a game that seems to be even more about mental than physical ability. Although you do need to know how to play the game, if you do not have good mental control and techniques, you can still play badly.
No matter what level you golf at, you need to be actively involved in forming and practicing approaches that will help you efficiently cope with stress. In the game of golf you have to focus on both the technical and the mental side of the game. This means that both sides need to be worked on as well. The top golfers in the world have learned the balance and cope very well with stress from the game.
Visualization can play a key role in helping you to excel at the game of golf. When you are on the course, before you swing, use your imagination. Close your eyes for a moment and picture yourself hitting the ball, allow your mind to see exactly where you want your shot to land. Gearing yourself up mentally before you ever take a swing can make an improvement on your game.
All golfers regardless of their experience level have days when their game is off, the important thing is to be able to mentally get past that and not let it affect you in future games. If you have ever had your self-confidence and vanish on competition day or have lost concentration after a bad shot, you are not alone. These issues can all easily be conquered. This is because they resulted from some mental pressure in your mind, not because you are a bad golfer. Reversing how you deal with these problems mentally can solve problems, not just create them.
Some golfers practice mental techniques to help them learn how to cope with distractions during games. One such way is to have someone deliberately try to throw your game off when you are about to take a shot. This could be done with loud noises, talking, or even dropping clubs. If you can develop the mental strength to tune everything else out, and focus totally on your swing, you will go a long way in improving your game.
It is your mind that controls your body, not your body that controls your mind. Therefore, most of the problems a player will come across in golf are actually due to their mind not being trained. A golfer needs to learn to teach their mind to give their body the accurate directions needed to achieve what they want it to.
Pressure during competition can bring about a whole set of problems in itself. When a golfer plays the game for practice, there is no pressure on him to succeed. So, when it comes time to play competitively, he may actually self-sabotage himself with negative mental thoughts. You need to work on programming your mind to work with you, not against you.
Mental training techniques can radically help golfers to develop their scores. Some of these techniques consist of visualization, self-talk, and getting into an optimum mental state.Â
Stability, focus and self-confidence are all best attained with a habitual mental training program. This will actually only consume about ten minutes of your time off the course and is utilized at strategic times on the course. Typically on the course it would occur when you are feeling a great sense of pressure.
There are a variety of common golf problems that can be defeated with the proper mental training. If you experience any of the following, you can benefit from training your mind with mental techniques: lack of self-confidence, slumps in form, playing either better or worse in the back nine, concentration or technical issues, no improvement in your game no matter how hard you practice, anxiety, irregularity in competition, injury or illness just before competitions.
With proper mental training, these problems are usually easy to overcome. Actually, they are often less time consuming to correct than to develop in the first place. Mental training is also very useful in taking your game up to the next level, allowing you to achieving a dominant set of mind while you play the game.Â

Those who have a passion for golf and have been successful in other tournaments may want to consider preparing for the Ice Golf Championship in Greenland, scheduled for March 22 through March 27th of 2007.
If you are a golfer who is not sure if you are ready for this coming year’s Championship you may still want to prepare as if you were going. That way when you know you are ready to go for sure you will be able to give it your all.
If you feel you are ready to participate in this even now, then you may want to register for it as soon as possible. The date is rapidly approaching, and you will need to act as soon as possible. If you are not ready you can still enjoy it as a spectator, and possibly become inspired by those who do compete in this event.
The World Ice Golf Championship started in Uummannaq, Greenland, and has been held in this place since 1997. In fact, the ice conditions have so far been perfect every single year. This Championship is set 600 KM north of the Article Circle, on one of the most extraordinary ice landscapes of the entire world. This is a place to which golfers from all over the world travel to compete in a tournament for The World Ice Golf Championship title.
The entire Greenland Championship golf course is made up of huge freezing glaciers and icebergs. This northern golf course is usually prepared just days before the event, as the ice formations are different from year to year. This Artic golfing adventure is perfect for those who are winter sports’ enthusiasts. The temperature drops below minus 50 degrees Celsius.
In addition to the cold temperature, players will usually contend with the wind chill, and the possibility of losing a fluorescent orange ball to a polar bear. These extreme conditions are not for the physically and mentally weak. Those who feel they are up for the challenge can enjoy this. Even as a spectator, you would need to know how to keep your body warm during this trip.
In addition to golfing, both golfers and spectators can enjoy other attractions in this area as well. For instance, amazing ice sculptures were created for everyone’s enjoyment. In addition, those who stay in a nearby hotel can relax during free times on the balcony, while the sun is brightly shining.
The organizer of this entire even is the World Ice Golf Committee in Greenland. However, they receive quite a bit of help from nature. During the months of January and February the ocean forms the ice formations that create this course. The course is mostly laid out on the fjord ice, which is close to town, and is 9 holes, with a par of 35 or 36. The breakdown is generally 5 par 4’s, 2 par 3’s, and 2 par 5’s.
The entire distance of the World Ice Golf Championship course is about 5 to 7 percent shorter than the normal average golf course. The foundation is different from hole to hole. For instance, on one side of a course iceberg there can be quite a bit of snow than on the other, and is quite different than on European ice rinks. In addition, 1-2 CM of frozen snow dust, that makes the course surface rough and uneven.
Playing on the ice is different in some ways than playing on a regular golf course. However, it is also very similar in many ways to traditional golf. The techniques used to play are basically the same, but the rules of the game are changes slightly to suit the icy conditions. Usually players will adjust very quickly to these different conditions.
As far as records are concerned, they cannot be beaten hole-by-hole, day-by-day, or even event-by-event. The movements in the packed ice formations are constantly altering the course, and creating an emergence of new ice forms, which are instantly incorporated into the course.
The complete tournament is played in two days’ time, for a total of 36 holes, of 9 holes at a time per game. The winner is the person with the lowest total score after 36 holes. Additional prizes are given to the best players in two handicap groups A and B, and Stableford decides this.
The maximum number of participants in the game is 20, and the maximum handicap that is used is 36. In addition, it is recommended that player use steel clubs, which are better for the cold. Spectators who are attending are advised to dress warm, in goose down coats, and the like.

Over swinging is very common in golf, and the problem can be corrected very easily. The definition of an over swing is when a golfer takes the golf shaft beyond the point where it is parallel to the ground at the top of the backswing.
Over swinging often includes too big of a body turn, and allowing the lever arm to collapse. For instance, a right-handed golfer may turn too much in one direction, and will bend the left elbow too much. Other components of an over swing would be cupping or over cocking the wrists, and opening the fingers of the lever arm hand.
In addition, an over swing also may consist of totally straightening or totally collapsing the rear leg. In addition, the person who over swings usually leans the spine toward the target, with weight on the forward leg.
Generally speaking, over swinging becomes a problem because an excess of moving body parts makes bringing the club back to position at the appropriate time more difficult. It also prevents a person from swinging the same way twice. These situations can be corrected, however, and the person’s overall golf game can be dramatically improved.
In order to correct the situation of an over swing a golfer needs to make some changes at the top of the backswing. One change is to make sure both eyes can see the ball. In order to test this you can close one eye at a time to find out, and the eye furthest from the target should be ideally closed first, because this will be the most important point to test.
Another action that a person can take at the top of a backswing is to make sure the spine angle is relatively vertical from the face-on view. It should not be leaning towards the target (The ball). In addition, your weight will need to be considerably heavier on your rear leg, and your knee should be flexed at the same angle, and that your knee should not move or point outside the foot.
Other precautions that can be taken to avoid over swinging is to make sure the lever arm (the left hand for right-handed golfers) is reasonably extended, but not totally rigid, rather than collapsed. Also, the hands and the wrist should be under control, and the fingers of the lever arm hand should remain closed
In addition, the back of the hand should not be bent back towards the forearm, and the hand grip should remain in tact. Also, for those who are not double-jointed, the angle between the shaft and the lever arm should not exceed much more than 90 degrees.
Those who follow the above tips will not usually be able to over swing.
If you follow these tips it could greatly improve your golf play. If you need further help you may want to consider a variety of options. For instance, some of these include watching golf videos, or taking golf classes. Others include having a friend or partner golfer show you how to improve your swing.
Another aspect of swinging may possibly be that you need to identify your proper swing weight, or change the kind of golf club that you use. You may also want to adjust have your golf clubs aligned, or to have a pair of golf clubs especially made for you.
In addition, you may even consider consulting a professional golfer for private golf swinging lessons. That person can offer you the feedback and support you need for success. You can also read other free articles such as this, which can further explain all the components of improving your golf swing, and other aspects of your golf play.
Any amount of effort that you put into improving your swing will help you improve your overall golf progress. In addition, it will help you prevent injuries to your lower back, wrists, elbows, arms, or other sections of your body. You will not only be able to play better golf but you will be able to play safer, too.
Soon you will have improved your swing so much you will be golfing like a pro. If you use the above tips you will be able to play successfully for quite a long time

There are etiquette tips that every golfer should know and every golfer should follow. It has been said that etiquette and manners are the lubricant that makes society flow smoothly and that is even truer on the golf course. While golf is a wonderful game many people take the game quite seriously and some people are high strung. It is quite possible that someone could become offended and throw a tantrum if proper etiquette is not followed. Of course manners are not everything. Sometimes the rules of golf etiquette are there to keep people safe, and safety should be important in any sport.
After all, you would never see fans at a football game running out onto the field because of the safety factor. Also you notice that pro baseball players wear protective headgear, just as football players wear helmets and padding. Safety in all sports is important, and the example that is set for fans is just as important, making following the rules, being safe and practicing proper golf etiquette quite an important thing to learn and to practice.
Newbies to the game of golf need to make a point of learning golf etiquette quickly. Most newbies are taken under the wing of a more experienced golfer. Some even go so far as to join clubs, or to hire golf pros to teach them and give them individual lessons. Others learn golf in high school or college. But all athletics competitions have rules.  So, learn some of the basic rules and enjoy the game.
First don’t swing your club until you are sure that no one is in the way. Make sure that everyone is at a safe distance. Golf clubs are swung with a great deal of force and could cause serious injury, and you don’t want to hurt anyone so double check and make sure no one is in the way of your swing.
Next never swing in the direction of another person. You could accidentally pick up some sort of debris, a small rock or some other object that could hit someone and cause injury. It is much like the rule of never pointing a gun at someone even if you think it is unloaded. You never know when your swinging might pick up a foreign object, so don’t swing in anyone else’s direction.
Then, always make sure that the group ahead of you on the golf course is out of range before swinging. You don’t want to accidentally put your ball into the middle of a group of people. It is embarrassing and could harm someone.Â
Also, if you believe there is even a slight chance that your ball could land near someone else, then always warn him or her. The traditional and accepted way of doing this is by yelling “fore.â€
Always keep your cart off of the grass. Also pay attention to signs posted around the golf course. Follow the rules of the club. Whether you are a member or a guest, following the rules is simply practicing good sportsmanship. And remember that the rules are there for a reason. Either there has been a problem at the club in the past or someone anticipates a problem and is trying to avoid the hassles that can arise. Besides, following the rules is simply showing respect.
Never throw your clubs. Many people get angry and toss their clubs, and this is the mark of a poor sportsman. It is childish and immature and in addition to the possibility of causing injury it simply makes the person who does it look foolish and no one wants to play golf with someone with a bad temper.
Of course, many of us have seen golf oriented movies like Caddy Shack and Tin Cup. There are many scenes in these movies that are quite funny that have characters violating some of these rules. Caddy Shack II in fact had Rodney Dangerfield acting out as a very obnoxious guest at a golf club. While these actions are funny in the films, in real like they are not funny at all. In fact, the late Rodney Dangerfield had quite a reputation as a gentlemen and a sportsman and would never have acted out in such a way in person.Â
