Golf apparel designers are now adding function to fashion by creating golf wear designed with a double duty in mind. The result: styles that perform equally well on or off the course.

Over the years, many golfers have become known for more than their aptitude at the game – from the unmistakable style of Ian Poulter and the late Payne Stewart to fashionable golf legend Annika Sorenstam, golfers are expressing themselves with fashion both on and off the course. “Quality golf wear and accessories are a worthwhile investment for every golfer, as the level of quality and style will work just as well in day-to-day life as they do on the course,” says Chris Walling, director of marketing for Callaway Golf Canada.

“We have found that people want to wear golf-inspired clothing and accessories year-round, whether it be sweaters and pants, or specific golf watches and laptop bags,” continued Walling. “In today’s busy lives we are seeing a trend towards cross-functionality,” he added. “For instance, we recently introduced sunglasses that not only cut down the sun’s glare to help your eyes follow your ball flight on the course, but also decrease the blinding brightness experienced on sunny winter days.”
